THE BOOKS
The Our World of Wildlife children's book series shares environmental and ecological concepts in a fun, simple, and educational way. The book series allows children to explore the natural world through narrative and illustrations. Parents can learn more about each species and their unique ecological story in the 'For the Parents' section at the back of the book.
Our world is an intricately balanced ecosystem and the sea otter/kelp forest system exemplifies how top predators help structure their environment. Sophie is a sea otter who lives happily in a kelp forest in the ocean. When she and her friends are driven out of their home, however, their absence has disastrous results for the kelp forests that provide food and shelter for so many other species.
